The Deal of a Lifetime by Fredrik Backman (2017)
Laura’s Rating: 3/5 Stars
This wasn’t quite what I had hoped for. I’ve absolutely adored the two novels I’ve read by Backman but this story was not of the same caliber for me. The book read a bit disjointed and I found it hard to follow. It felt like this was almost an outline of a short story that could have been fleshed out more. The concept was interesting but didn’t hit the same as Backman’s other works. I think the messaging would also resonate more with a parent or someone older. The story made me a bit sad and still had some emotional depth, but the confusing nature of it left me wanting more at the end.
