HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃

Thanksgiving (2023)

A bloody revenge horror centered around Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Laura’s Rating: 1.5/5 Stars

Plot: After a Black Friday riot, a masked killer returns a year later to seek revenge on those involved in the incident.

Opinion: There’s so many Christmas and even Halloween movies, it’s kinda fun to see a Thanksgiving one (at least in theory).

The opening musical score is actually pretty unsettling. I loved the way the movie opened with an homage to the opening scene of Halloween. After that, it goes downhill pretty quickly.

There’s an obvious commentary on Black Friday craziness and consumerism. The Black Friday riot scene is gory. Like almost comically but it’s pretty horrifying. Turns out the rest of the movie is pretty much the same way. Gory and gross. The script is filled with expletives delivered in awful Boston accents.

Somehow the ending was actually pretty decent and somewhat unexpected. It definitely doesn’t make up for bad acting, lots of gore, and a bad script. Thanksgiving was a bad movie, but I was entertained.

Shoutout to Meredith for modeling in this photo.
